About the Baure Tribe
The brand, CHOCOLATE BAURE, is named in honor of the Baure tribe, part of the Arawak peoples alongside the Moxeños and Machineri. Starting around 3000 BC, the Baure journeyed up the Amazon rivers, discovering vast plains reminiscent of the lands they had previously inhabited, the Moxos plains. Today, the Baure tribe members are the dedicated farmers who harvest these wild cacao beans. By naming the cacao after this tribe, we celebrate their rich history, deep connection to the Amazonian lands, and their invaluable role in cultivating the super fruit.
